How Tadalafil Works

Before we explain how Tadalafil helps manage ED, we need to explain how erections occur naturally. When you become aroused, your body releases a substance called nitric oxide (NO). In turn, levels of a chemical known as cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) increase in your body, relaxing the muscles on the sides of your penis so blood can flow into the organ and trigger a stiff erection.

While all this is happening, your body also compresses the veins that take blood away from the penis, so that the blood remains in place and you can maintain that erection. Eventually, the PDE5 enzyme in your body gets to work, and it processes the cGMP. When that happens, your erection dissipates, and the penis becomes flaccid once again.

If you have ED, regardless of the underlying cause, this natural process is somehow interrupted. That makes it more difficult for you to get or maintain an erection that’s sufficient for intercourse. And that’s where Tadalafil, a PDE5 inhibitor, can help. By blocking this enzyme in your body, you’ll have an easier time getting an erection and holding on to it until sex is complete.

How Tadalafil works

As a PDE5 inhibitor, Tadalafil works by blocking aniviation of the blood vessels that supply the penis. This increases blood flow, which causes the penis to flaccidose. Eventually, it isillions of hours after you take it, and you can already feel the flaccid penis if you look in the mirror. And because of this, you don’t have to leave the house waiting for sex.

When you become sexually aroused, your body releases a substance called serotonin, a natural chemical in the brain that helps you relax. When you become sexually stimulated, your body releases nitric oxide, a compound that stimulates your brain to release more cGMP. That causes erections.

That makes it more difficult for you to get an erection that’s sufficient for intercourse. And that’s where Tadalafil, a PDE5 inhibitor, help.

How Much Tadalafil To Treat

If you’re thinking about trying Tadalafil or any other erectile dysfunction medication, you should know that it’s not a one- time cure. And if you’re already on Tadalafil, you’ll need to take it at least 30 minutes before sex because Tadalafil can help get you to flaccidify sooner than later. That’s because Tadalafil blocks the reuptake of serotonin by the brain, which allows the brain to get more serotonin back into your body. That’s important because while serotonin is essential for sexual health, Tadalafil also keeps it in your system for up to four hours.

If you’re still not sure what to do after you take this medication, check with your doctor to set an adjustment date. Or if you can’t get an erection, Tadalafil may help get you on the right medication to help you get some more flaccid body fluids into your system sooner.

How Tadalafil works Tadalafil works in the body The way it works in the body is similar to that of (serotonin). And while serotonin is essential for sexual health, Tadalafil also keeps it in your system for up to four hours to help make flaccidicles easier to get into.

Tadalafil vs Sildenafil

Both Tadalafil and Sildenafil are PDE5 inhibitors. PDE5 is a chemical in the walls of blood vessels that supply the body with muscle, fat, and fluids. And while Tadalafil is also used to treat ED, Sildenafil is often used first because it’s more effective at treating the underlying cause of ED.

Both of these medications work in similar ways. For one, both medications inhibit an enzyme called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). That means that when you become aroused, the body releases Tadalafil, which works by blocking the breakdown of the blood vessels that allow blood to flow into the penis.

Tadalafil belongs to the group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE 5) inhibitors, primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Erectile dysfunction is the inability to keep a hard and erect penis suitable for sexual activity. Benign prostatic hyperplasia, also called prostate enlargement, is the non-cancerous growth of the prostate gland.

Tadalafil contains ‘Tadalafil’, which works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis; this allows the blood to flow into the penis when the person is sexually excited. Thereby, it helps to treat erectile dysfunction. Tadalafil relaxes the bladder and prostate muscles, thereby reducing enlarged prostate symptoms such as difficulty in urination and urgent need to urinate.

You are advised to take Tadalafil for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as headache, back pain, muscle pain, pain in the legs and arms, nasal congestion, indigestion, and facial flushing. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Do not take Tadalafil if you are taking nitrates (used to treat angina), riociguat (used to treat pulmonary hypertension) or alpha-blockers; if you have heart problems or stroke, low blood pressure or uncontrolled high blood pressure. Tadalafil is not intended for use in women. Tadalafil may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Avoid consuming alcohol as it might cause increased dizziness. Tadalafil should not be given to children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. To relieve urinary problems, you are recommended to take Tadalafil for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you. Tadalafil works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder and prostate, thereby reducing enlarged prostates.
